Reviews Overview

Most Liked

The fresh catch of the day consistently impresses diners, especially the haddock, which is often described as stunningly delicious and cooked to perfection. The batter is crispy, and the chips are fluffy—true comfort food.

Customers rave about the generous portion sizes. Many find themselves satisfied after a small size, particularly with their famous fish and chips.

The tartar sauce receives high praise, enhancing the seafood experience beautifully. It's a great addition that makes the meal memorable.

The location near the beach is another highlight. Diners appreciate the scenic views while waiting for their food and even have opportunities to spot sea lions during peak times.

Most Disliked

A common point of feedback is the lack of indoor seating. As a takeaway-only establishment, diners sometimes find themselves searching for nearby places to enjoy their meal or facilities to use.

Some patrons mention the queues during peak times, especially on Friday evenings when it can reach full capacity. While the wait reflects the quality, it can be frustrating for those eager to eat immediately.

Finding a restroom can be an inconvenience, as those visiting often need to look elsewhere after ordering, which detracts slightly from the experience.

A few customers have noted that while the chips are good, they don't always match the quality of the fish, hinting at a desire for them to be a bit more flavorful.

Highly recommend this place! We’ve been here multiple times, and there’s always a line — a sure sign of fresh seafood. The food is fast, tasty, and reasonably priced. The view of the bay is gorgeous, and if you’re lucky, you’ll spot some sea lions while waiting. It definitely makes the wait more enjoyable. The only downside: no seating or restroom available. With the amount of people this place attracts, it would be great to see a solution — having to search for a restroom across town isn’t ideal.

The most delicious haddock and chips I’ve had in a very long time. Absolutely beautiful batter, crispy but fluffy chips. Fantastic!

We visited the Wee Hurrie and got the Haddock and chips, it was fresh, cooked to perfection and the chips are the best I've ever had. I would highly recommend the Wee Hurrie, friendly staff, great portion sizes and I would say it's more of an experience as opposed to a typical take away fish supper, different class. Look forward to visiting again.

Fave spot for fish and chips after a walk along the beach. Portions are on the big side so today’s choice was small haddock and chips. Fish is always fabulous , and the tartar sauce is one of the best. Would also recommend fritto misto and tempura prawns.

Fresh delicious salmon, delicate fries, nice efficient service. I chose this place out of curiosity and I was not disappointed, delicious freshly fried fish and fries. You have to wait a bit in the queue, but this meal is worth it! Delicious thank you!
